"I am thrilled to announce the first concert performance of my score to "Battlestar Galactica" in 3 years, July 31st at the Hollywood Bowl! I created a new "BSG" suite that will feature a taiko ensemble, Chris Bleth's duduk, Paul Cartwright's electric violin and Raya Yarbrough's vocals. Best of all, my suite will be guided by the masterful baton of the legendary Gustavo Dudamel. Tickets are available now. So say we all!"

go , Go, GO!!!

The performance was fantastic!
Raya opened with her beautiful voice, perfectly nailing every note.

As Bear has mentioned, he wrote a piece that combined some of the memorable music into just one 8-9 minute'ish performance to open the show.

Raya opened with her beautiful voice, perfectly nailing every note. Paul Cartwright was his usual awesome self.

I laughed a bit seeing the taiko drums thinking they would only be used for Bear's music.

I wore my "Bear's notes" t-shirt, and as my wife and I first walked into the seating area I saw Bear sitting at a table close to the walkway. He was sitting with a couple talking and as he saw my t-shirt he smiled. As I said hello I asked if I could shake his hand in which he said "of course! He asked my name and where I was from.

It was a great moment. I would have liked to get a picture but didn't want to interrupt him anymore than I did.

I would have loved to hear a lot more of Bear's work, but a little is better than none.

Most of the folks sitting around us didn't know too much of his work. I was asked if I was bear because of his name below the collar on back of the shirt. I replied no I wasn't but was very excited to hear his work being played. I then talked about all the work he has done since then and also the two sold out concerts at the roxy. Hopefully the performance was able to increase the number of people who now can become fans as we all are.

Cheers Bear for amazing work and for being so very approachable.
