The Oblivion version of the theme sounds even MORE like Pirates. Morrowind is older than Pirates, though, so I'm fairly sure the similarity is a coincidence.

I think I may finally be able to say that I love a Mass Effect score.
*SPOILER ALERT*
As you may know, Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Pi, Moon, Black Swan) is scoring ME3 and the clips of his music that I heard while playing the demo were much more up my alley. I think I'm actually going to like this score and play the game with the music on.

I never get to chat about game soundtracks...  #1 MechWarrior 2 and expansions: I don't even know who wrote this music, but it is awesome. I still have the original game CDs just so I can make sure to have the music available. #2 Blizzard games: Diablo, StarCraft, Warcraft - in general Blizzard puts out good music. And the fact that they have done actual soundtrack releases for more than a decade goes to show they understand the value of good music. #3 Total Annihilation: If memory serves, this is an early Jeremy Soule soundtrack, but its good, He does channel John Williams a bit, but that isn't all bad. #4 Max Payne 2: Specifically the main cello theme. Having never played console games, I've missed out on some good music (at least, that's what I hear). I've been a PC game player for 20 years and just don't see any reason to change.

Funny... When I was a teenager, PC was for work, console for fun. I never played games on the PC, only Super Nintendo, Genesis and Game Boy (and now Wii). I never even connected a joystick/pad to my PC. I had a Commodore C64 and a C16 when I was a kid. Does that count as PC gaming?
