Sadly too far away for me - hoping you do a BSG Orchestra or Symphony concert in the southeast sometime!

Hi Bear,
I was lucky to have seen Freddie and the rest of the guys about 10 times over the years, and was always very pleased with all the shows. The day Mr. Mercury left was a very sad day for sure, as well as a number of other close friends to AIDs, so I'm happy to say I will be there.

Hope I get a chance to say "hi"...

Awesome poster!

So... not to hijack the thread, but this is kind of related. Two surviving members of Queen, I believe it's the drummer and guitarist, are holding a contest to form an official Queen sanctioned tribute band. You submit your audition video via Youtube.

Well, one of the lead singers of one of my favorite bands, Marc Martel (a Christian rock band from Canada called Downhere no less haha), randomly was encouraged by his wife to submit a video. Now what you have to understand is for the last 8 years at every concert inevitably he has someone ask if anyone has ever told him that he sounds like Freddy Mercury. He submitted this video, having not even straightened up his bedroom, and it got a million hits on Youtube in the first 24 hours it was up, and is up to over 4 million now. He was featured on the Ellen show and was all over the net - it went totally viral.

In any case, most people commenting on the video agree this guy has blown away the competition. The bass player from Downhere decided to audition as well.

This is just all very cool - the band has become good friends of ours, and is how I met my now fiancee. Marc has been so humble about it - he has always been the one person in the band to avoid attention, and doesn't really know what to do with all the attention.

Wow, we just finished our first week of rehearsals and... oh man... this stuff sounds SO FREAKIN' GOOD! I am so excited for this concert!

Ok, so I have to admit that getting the guitar and vocal arrangements right on this stuff has made it the most challenging live concert of my career thus far. But, when you guys hear how amazing it sounds... OMG. The harmonies give me chills, even when we're just rehearsing. I am having the time of my life doing this. I hope we can do it every year!
