Just a quick question for anyone here who is a musician and may know.

Are those Japanese woodwinds playing in the opening to the main theme for "Razor"? They definitely sound familiar to me if I recollect my memories of the tv miniseries "Shogun" correctly.

The most frequently used asian woodwinds on the BSG score were:

Bansuri (japanese)
Membrane Flute (chinese, often called a dizi)

On very rare occasions towards the end of Season 4, I used shakuhachi. But, in general I avoided it because so many scores in the 90's used Shakuhachi I got totally sick of the sound. It took me a decade to warm up to the idea of using it again.

But, yeah, that was the bansuri in the RAZOR MT for sure. Hope that helps.
