Thanks! Those questions have been on my mind for a year. I thought I was just imagining things. lol. Congrats on the press coverage in the other post! BSG music really is great. I recently snagged another friend of mine to watch the show. Once again, he says what first drew him in was the music, now he’s hooked!

Questions…

1). “In Season 3,there is a bit of music playing when Adama and Lee are talking about going back to New Caprica.”

You’re not the first person to ask me about this. That cue was one of my personal favorites from the entire season. And honestly, it was one of the last ones I was forced to cut from the album due to time restrictions. Once the series ends, I’ll be putting together a series of CDs representing the material that didn’t make the cut on any album so far, and I can guarantee you that this one will be included.

2). Watchtower’s alternate “film version” mix will get released on the before-mentioned release as well.

The Academy seems to ignore several talented people on Galactica, so I appreciate your comment. After all, this puts me in the same category as Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell! Since these two incredible leads have been snubbed year after year, there’s clearly a misunderstanding in the industry about what our show is. I think the fact that is a “remake” of a campy sci fi classic, some people still don’t want to recognize that this new version is a legitimate drama. An Emmy nod would, of course, be wonderful, but I’m really not expecting it to come for my work on Galactica, no matter how impressive it ever may become. That just seems to be the feeling of the nominating body right now…

Stupid Seattle. Nothing ever happens here except earthquakes and rain and violent volcanic eruptions and governors overriding voters (see: Seahawks Stadium, which was voted down 3 times, but built anyway). And serial killers. We have the best serial killers in the world (outside of Germany)!!

No good comic-cons, though. LOTS of comic-cons, but no GOOD comic-cons.

Just serial killers and geologic terrorism :)

What I’m trying to say is, you should really tour. You could be rolling in Benjis!! Maybe roll them up and use them to bang those drums! “This song was recorded using a hollowed-out tree stump covered with leather-treated $100 bills, with drum sticks of lacquered and condensed $100 bills.”

When you’re on percocet, you have all KINDS of ideas. And some of them are bad.

The venue–it’s a very trendy restaurant oriented around a small stage–had a video system for showing the performance on a screen behind the musicians. It’s possible that they recorded it. But I did not see anybody else with a videocam and I imagine there’s all kinds of copyright issues. I took a few photos that came out okay, although the lighting was not great. I don’t think there’s any way to post them here.

I wasn’t aware of this blog until the panel discussion at Comic Con on Thursday. My friend and I attended the performance at Anthology on Sunday night. I would like to thank you and your colleagues for performing. That was a real joy and a great way to close out our vacation. Please thank your fellow musicians for us.

Anthony – I just hope the music live or studio comes out in a consumable format that we can all access and enjoy. Bear is a true “soundtrack genius”. The one track I would love to see in a live paylist is “Prelude to War”. My Heavens, what a fantastic track! Thanks for the wonderful music Bear.
