You may know this already, but Roger Waters uses “Caprica City, Before the Fall” as part of his intermission music during “The Wall.” Two of my favorite musical pieces combined like a peanut butter cup? Yes, please!

Got it and played it, I know it’s the same melody and it does sound great, but it’s still not the same as a straight solo. To match it I have to pencil in grace notes and such, and while not a music major or anything of the kind it just isn’t the same.

It is a lovely arrangement, and I could play it happily but I feel I’m missing so much by not having the real notes in front of me…

I listened to the song while reading the music notes in the piano arrangement of the melody and it’s just not the same.

I know it was written at least once as an Irish whistle arrangement, and while beautiful as a piano solo its just not the flute solo I was looking for…

Is there a possible way I can get that exact sequence? Or will I have to just assume the notes based off what I have?

I knew I’d heard melody throughout the series, the scene with Lee Adama returning after his mission and throwing Bill his lighter back with that melody was almost as touching as sending off the battlestar herself, just wasn’t sure if it was an exact match or not, I’ll go place an order right now, thanks again!

Hi Gleyr…

Just pick up the newly released “Battlestar Galactica” piano music book. The arrangement of “Wander My Friends” is the same melody, in fact, written in several keys. If you play that on your flute, by itself, you will essentially recreate “Grand Old Lady.” Hope that helps!

Bear,

Picked up your soundtrack for season 1 of BSG years ago and just picked up season 4 the other day. I watched the show as it was realeased and have re-watched it a couple times and always loved the music. Lately I’ve been getting back into playing my flute and while listening to season 4 came across ‘Grand Old Lady,’ I read above that it’s written for Irish whislte, but I’m really hoping there’s someway to find any sort of sheet music for it to play myself.

I’ve been looking all over for a couple hours online and can only find a handful of piano arrangements and none include ‘Grand Old Lady.’ It’s such a beautiful solo I would love to learn it myself, is there anywhere I can find it?

I’ve reviewed the posts on this blog, and it looks like I’m not the only one looking for sheet music to Elegy. I love your music. I’m not just a BSG fan but very much a fan of the beautiful music. My son was looking for the sheet music to Elegy so he could play it for a recital. Any update on when it would be available? Thanks!

I just want to say I am a HUGE fan. I have pre-ordered every single one of your BSG albums to date, and cannot wait for the new releases as well. I have scoured through the blog posts trying to find more information on upcoming releases of BSG music and Sheet Music for the series but have only found mentions that there will be sheet music released. Have I missed something and is sheet music still in the works?
