BG Roxy Concert Videos on G4!

Posted by Bear McCreary on May 17th, 2008

UPDATED 7-27-08:  G4’s timeframe to run the videos expired, so the videos finally came down. Hope you enjoyed them while they lasted!

For those of you who missed the concert we did at The Roxy last month, G4.com is running complete music videos of two songs, Roslin and Adama and Fight Night.

As I mentioned earlier, I’m hoping we can find a way to release the rest of concert.  But, these two songs are certainly among my favorites from those concerts.

DVD would be awesome!!!

Awesome! And I agree with Daniel….a DVD would immediately find it’s way into my collection….

It’s great that they put the full versions up — they really did a nice job editing everything.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the DVD release!

I hope this does get a DVD release.

Season 4 DVD. Any DVD. Could we get “Black Market” please on G4?

And let us know where else to write if that helps. Everybody remember to go over to the “Behold the Poundy Drums” thread for the BSG Forum at http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com, since that’s a place where other folk post about the music.

I really hope there will be a DVD release for all the fans who couldn’t be there…

I’d buy it without hesitation !

I cried when I looked at your videos…

Thanks Bear, for how you make me feel !!

I never went in a concert in my life, but if you make one in London, I promise I will be there, and it will be my first !
(and I don’t know how I will go there, I never went to England neither…) :D

I would like it on DVD too! Unless Bear and the Band wanna come to the DC area.

Hey Bear, tell Joe he did a great job with these. Glad to see they made it up.

Have fun in the frozen north!

[...] Galactica, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and many other films and television series, performed a concert of some of his music at The Roxy. Two segments from the concert were placed on his blog. The concerts were televised on G4. [...]

Bear, can you please tell us specifically what we can do to encourage Universal to include the concert/documentary on the Season 4 DVD? There aren’t too many people in my circle who would be interested enough for me to spread the word to, but if there’s an address I can write a letter to, for example, I would gladly to that.

OMG, these videos are amazing! Fingers crossed for the dvd, I’d love to see the full concert on DVD.

The Roslin & Adama theme is simply beautiful, especially the last emotional segment. And Fight Night… it kicks ass big time. Paul Cartwright’s (it’s him, right?) violin solo is truly breathtaking, and the pounding drums must have exploded the room. Wish I’d been there…

Hey Bear, can we get a playlist for the live shows?

Hey guys,

A lot of you have been asking where to write to drum up support for the release of the concert footage. I don’t have any particular place or person in mind yet, just keep the idea active in threads if you can. If it comes down to pulling together an email bombarding campaign, I’ll let you all know where to focus your energies! :)

Jodalmighty…

I updated the first video entry with the set list. It should have been there in the first place. Check it out…

Concert footage as an add-on to Season 4 DVD! Any DVD release! Heck even VHS!!!

An actual tour would be amazing!!!

Nicely done, and thanks to G4 for putting up two full songs. Now, I need more.

So yeah, put me in for a DVD release too, maybe with some of the season 4 stuff as well, especially Gaeta’s Lament. Beg, borrow, steal, do what you have to to get AJ on stage!

Guys:
The Sunday show ranks right up there with some of the best rock and roll shows I’ve seen in the past 30 years !! Traveled down from Seattle, Wa. with my son to see it and it BLEW ME AWAY! Currently trying to get Bear and the BSG band to play the Experience Music Project (E.M.P.) up here in Seattle and have a couple of emails into people there!

A live DVD of the concert (all by its self) and the “documentary” would be my vote and I would buy afew copies to hand out!

That’s really amazing!
I hope to see an eventual next concert maybe if you have a project in Europe :). I think that it could be a great challenge and project.

Keep going Mr McCreary! You make all of us dream!

Yes! To the Experience Music Experience (and that is NOT the Dept. of Redundancy Dept.) in Seattle.

What a way to really experience the swath and depth and heights of this show!

Oh, my…on one hand “Fight Night” is so damn beautiful it almost breaks my heart; there’s just something about that music…and on the other hand I want to jump up & down and holler “YES!” because it looks as if everyone was having just as much fun performing the number as it was listening to it! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU soooooooo much for posting this video!

Another vote for a DVD release here! And thanks for posting the videos here from G4—otherwise I never would have known about them!

Ack! I am so very sad they took the videos down! At least a couple times a month I’d log on and watch “Fight Night.” That music just sort of works its way through your body and brain and gives you a sort of “music massage” that is rarely found.

I am an ignorant slob about music, so please to forgive the stupidity here. I had a long conversation with my grandma today about Japanese culture, Battlestar Galactica (she’s blind and doesn’t watch it/listen to it, but was very interested in the music), pudding, hair styles, and other things (I was visiting her in the hospital, and was there for about 5 hours-conversation went a little long).

We’re of Scottish stock, but my grandmother is one of maybe 3 or 4 Euro-Americans designated as a Master of Bunka, which is complex/intricate Japanese embroidery. She taught it for about 50 years, and we all spent a lot of time at the Japanese Cultural Center in Seattle growing up.

We used to watch Taiko performances, which were spectacular. I’d actually forgotten about them until today.

My question is: are any of those fabulous drums used on the BSG soundtrack Taiko? I was going to watch the videos and find out for myself. Alas, my hopes were deflated. Stupid G4 timeframes.

DVD release is essential. Seriously.

Keep up the spectacular work!
